November 19, 2013 was the closing day of the V Anniversary International Conference «Heavy Russia 2013» organized by «International Business Forum» (IBF) held in Moscow, Russia.
As the leading freight forwarder on the project cargo market in Russia and CIS countries, Chandler GmbH is honored to be the primary sponsor of the Conference for the second time. Among sponsors: Rosgosstrakh, Instar Logistics, SPECPRICEP, and Volga-Dnepr Group.
Irina Kenig, Managing director of Chandler GmbH in Hamburg, shared the company’s experience in the field of international forwarding of industrial cargoes, incl. industrial equipment.
One of the most vivid examples – mining equipment transportation. Route: USA – Vorkura, Russia, number of items: 66, total weight: 166,509.00 kg, number of days: 119, incl. customs clearance and permit obtaining.
Central Asian countries also stayed in the focus of participants. This region is famous for its mineral resources and, therefore, numerous projects of minerals exploration and processing, which makes it highly attractive for project cargo forwarding companies.
At the same time, Central Asia remains a challenging region due to its geographical distance and political background.
Vladimir Nekhvyadovich , the CEO of Chandler Group, gave a clear picture of the cargo forwarding business in this region.
Poor road conditions, lack of transportation and cargo loading equipment, parched rivers, customs barriers, regional conflicts, and cultural differences may become obstacles for project implementation. It is crucial to take a prospective approach in forecasting all challenges and force majeure situations.
The popularity of “Heavy Russia” among professionals grows by approx. 20% annually and expands geographically.
The Conference of 2013 hosted 340 delegates from 17 countries, incl. Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Germany, Great Britain, USA, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Finland, Romania, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
